Girls Gone Golfing

The Introductory Class provides a no pressure opportunity to decide if golf is right for you or a is a refresher for those wanting to get back into the game. Proceeds go to Access Services' Project Oasis. This initiative supports children and adults in the Lehigh Valley with developmental disabilities, emotional and other mental health challenges by providing affordable respite services. The lack of funding to engage respite services affects countless Lehigh Valley children and adults in the families who are in need of this specialized support. Respite services allow individuals and their families to enjoy a vacation and become recharged;have an established place to go when there is a family emergency or hospitalization; or spend time with a trained respite provider in order to avoid crisis. Help us raise money for these unseen "heroes" giving them the break they need and deserve.

In honor of 9/11, we have teamed up with local fire departments that will provide on-site safety activities throughout the day.

The Annual Safe Harbor Regatta

We are asking the community to "float a boat" for a great cause! Participants will have the opportunity to rent a toy sailboat and compete in a "race" down the Bushkill Creek. Ticket rentals are $5 each and prizes will be awarded to the winners. A complimentary picnic lunch will be part of the festivities. This is our only fundraising event for 2010 and we are hoping to raise $25,000.

Lehigh Valley Start! Heart Walk

Paws 4 a Beat animal benefit concert

HARVEST WINE FESTIVAL TO BENEFIT NORWESCAP AND THE ARC

Phillips' Mill Annual 81st Juried Art Exhibition

Sept. 25 - October 31, 2010 Daily 1-5PM  The 81st Annual Juried Art Exhibition at Phillips' Mill is the first and most continuous venue for exhibiting the work of artists from the Delaware Valley.  It features the works of artists living within a 25 mile radius of Phillips' Mill.  Art includes oil, watercolors, prints, mixed media, drawing and sculpture.  Modern and abstract works hang along side representational and traditional styles.  All of the art may be purchased.

The Life and Love of Joe Coogan A Comic One-act Opera by Paul Salerni

Saucon Valley in the Past: Hellertown & Lower Saucon

On Tuesday, September 28 & Tuesday, October 5 join us for a trip back in time for a 2 part lecture and slide presentation on "Saucon Valley in the Past: Hellertown & Lower Saucon" by premier historian Richard Kantor.  The 2 night series will be held at Lower Saucon Town Hall from 7 - 9 pm and is free and open to the public (donations accepted). The event is co-sponsored by Saucon Valley's three historical organizations: Hellertown Historical Society, Lower Saucon Township Historical Society and Saucon Valley Conservancy.

Learn about the early days. The majority of his slides are from copies of pictures lent to him during the Hellertown Centennial when he wrote the History of Hellertown booklet in 1972.  The slide presentation will include the Weisel Harness Shop, Freemansburg, Water Street Covered Bridge, Hellertown Railroad Station, Wagner Terrace Farms, Redington Proving Grounds, Saucon Schools, Bingen, Bethlehem Steel Farm, Bethlehem Airport, Saucon Iron Company, Thomas Iron Works and more.

Mr. Kantor was born in Hellertown and graduated from Hellertown High School, Moravian College and Lehigh University.  He taught 7th grade history for 35 years in Saucon Valley Middle School. He is now retired and lives in Hellertown with his wife Elaine.
