  • Weekend Events for June 18-20
  • 3:27 pm

From festivals for good causes and Father’s Day festivities, this weekend will certainly be a blast for you and your family. Read on for my suggestions.

Friday, June 18

Get freaky! This Friday at 7:30 p.m. begins Freak Out Fringe Artifest in Downtown Allentown until Saturday night. Check out live music, mural painting, film, artists, fire throwers, and burlesque shows at several venues around the PPL Plaza on Hamilton Street. For a complete schedule, visit allentownfreakout.com.

Saturday, June 19

Join the 12-hour benefit concert and festival, Songs for the Spill, at Rock N’ Joe on Broad Street in Bethlehem. Lots of bands playing great live music. Free and open to the public. All proceeds from the event will benefit the National Audubon Society to help clean the animals affected by the disastrous BP oil spill. To learn more, visit songsforthespill.org.

Sunday, June 20

Happy Father’s Day! Take him out to the ball game this Sunday at Coca-Cola Park in Allentown for the IronPigs vs. Scranton/Wilkes Barre game at 1:35 p.m. Buy him some peanuts and cracker jack (or his other favorite game snack)! Tickets range in price from $6-$20. Visit ironpigsbaseball.com.
