This February is Chocolate-Covered at The Hotel Hershey. Save the Date for One of These Sweet Events.

For the fifth year, the town of Hershey will celebrate its annual “Chocolate-Covered February,” a month-long, destination-wide celebration of everything chocolate. In fact, there’s so much chocolate and fun this year that the celebration overflowed into another month. It will begin on Friday, January 30 and continue through the end of February..

Chocolate Dinner Extraordinaire – The first of many February adventures for serious chocolate fans is also the annual kickoff to Chocolate-Covered February in Hershey. The one-night-only dinner in the Circular Dining Room at The Hotel Hershey will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, January 30 with a reception in the Fountain Lobby, followed by an indulgent five-course dinner at which chocolate is infused into each dish. The dinner is $75 per person plus tax and gratuity; a wine pairing with the dinner is an additional $45 per person plus tax and gratuity.

Chef’s Chocolate Demonstrations - Guests ages 15 and older can enjoy chocolate culinary demonstrations by our accomplished Hotel chefs each Saturday beginning January 31 at11 a.m. This is a FREE event, but reservations are required.

Chocolate Afternoon Tea – Take a break with a Chocolate Afternoon Tea and enjoy finger sandwiches, chocolate desserts, and a variety of hot and cold teas. This event is available Saturdays in The Fountain Lobby from 3 to 5 p.m., and the cost is $25 per person plus tax and gratuity.

Wine & Chocolate Pairings

Every Saturday at 4 p.m., beginning on January 31, guests can learn about pairing fine wines with chocolate. The cost is $30 per person and reservations are required.

Chocolate Chef’s Table – This intimate five-course dinner for 12 takes place in the “alcove” of the Circular Dining Room and is available Friday and Saturday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Guests can enjoy a five-course, chocolate-inspired dinner and can reserve the entire table of 12 or join others. The dinner is $75 per person plus tax and gratuity; the dinner with a pairing of wines is an additional $35 per person.

Chocolate Dessert Buffet – This eye-popping display is available in the Fountain Lobby from 7 to 9:30 p.m. every Friday and Saturday, beginning on January 31. This indulgent buffet offers a variety of signature chocolate desserts, cappuccino, espresso and a sipping chocolate station. Reservations are required, and the cost is $35 for adults and $15 for children.

Breakfast With the Hershey’s Product Characters – On Monday, February 16 from 9 to 11 a.m., guests can meet the Hershey’s Product Characters and enjoy entertainment and activities just for kids. The cost is $34 for adults and $30 for children ages 3 to 8.

Chocolate Sunday Brunch – This special brunch is available on Sundays in February from noon to 2:30 p.m., with seatings on the half-hour. This mouth-watering buffet will feature countless chocolate dishes prepared by our Hotel chefs. The cost is $39.95 for adults and $19.95 for children ages 3 to 8, and reservations are required.

The “Chocolate Spa”

The Spa At The Hotel Hershey is offering a Signature Chocolate Spa Sampler Package. Available Monday through Thursday and exclusively during Chocolate-Covered February, the package includes a Whipped Cocoa Bath (or Chocolate Hydrotherapy for men); a choice of the Chocolate Bean Polish or Chocolate Sugar Scrub; a 50-minute Cocoa Massage; and lunch in The Oasis. The cost is $245 and includes tax and gratuity. The are no substitutions on Spa services.

Guest Chefs – During February, guests will have the opportunity to learn about Milton and Catherine Hershey’s travels by experiencing foods native to Cuba and the Caribbean (two of their favorite destinations) as prepared by our guest chefs. Friday, February 6 will feature live Caribbean entertainment, a chocolate and rum pairing seminar, and a Caribbean-inspired dinner. The cost is $70 plus tax and gratuity. Guests can enjoy just the chocolate and rum pairing for $29 plus tax and gratuity. On Saturday, February 21, live salsa and the tastes of Havana will abound in a Cuban-themed dinner featuring a distinctive selection of Cuban-inspired dishes. The cost is $70 plus tax and gratuity.

Chocolate Martini Mixology

Every Saturday in February, Hershey Lodge Beverage Manager Karl McCall will instruct in the fine art of creating the perfect chocolate martini. Participants of each session will create five different chocolate martinis and gain knowledge in basic mixology. A special martini tool kit and certificate will be awarded to each guest upon completion of the seminar. The cost is $40 plus tax and gratuity.

The Art of Chocolate Tasting – On Friday, February 13, guests will learn the art of tasting chocolates, from simple milk chocolate to dark chocolates infused with unique flavors. The cost is $25 plus tax and gratuity.

Chocolate Pairings – The Lodge has a tradition of pairing chocolate with fine spirits, and in 2009 cognac will get its turn. A Chocolate & Cognac Pairing (featuring a Chocolate Dessert Buffet) will be offered on Friday, February 27. Guests can taste five distinct chocolate and cognac combinations paired by Beverage Manager Karl McCall. The cost is $55 plus tax and gratuity. On Saturday, February 21, McCall will help guests discover the perfect pairings of chocolate and tea during a fun, educational and tasty event. The cost is $25 plus tax and gratuity.

Breakfast Buffet With the Hershey’s Product Characters – On Monday, February 16 from7 to 11 a.m., kids will love the Hershey’s Chocolate Character Breakfast, which includes a special visit from the Hershey’s Product Characters. The cost is $16.95 for adults, $12.95 for children ages 9 to 12 and $4.95 for children ages 4 to 8.

Hershey Bears

Hershey Bears’ fans can learn chocolate trivia from the Bears themselves, including the players’ favorite Hershey’s chocolate products. Fans can prove their knowledge of the history of chocolate in Hershey and take part in more interactive fun at Bears games in February.

Hershey’s Chocolate World

Hershey’s Chocolate World will feature daily dessert specials at Hershey’s Bake Shoppe, chocolate tastings, a Chocolate Dessert Journey, the Hersheypark Chocolate Parade and Chocolate-Covered Lunch Parties at Kit Kat Café.

The Hershey Story: The Museum on Chocolate Avenue

The newest experience in the town that chocolate built is The Hershey Story. This new museum will take part in Chocolate-Covered February by offering classes in its “Chocolate Lab” on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the month. Check www.HersheyStory.org for ticketing information.
