When spring rolls around most of us are excited to get out of the winter weather slump. As Mother Nature teases us with longer and warmer days we imagine what the spring and summer sun will bring us—pool parties, barbecues, picnics and any other excuse to use the backyard. If you want to make the most of the time you spend in your yard, be sure to follow these helpful tips we got from Shawn Marie Hursh, of Hursh’s Landscaping,  so that your lawn will be ready for the sunny days ahead.

This weekend was busy! Not to mention a hot one. But you knew that already. I was out gallivanting around the Valley making appearances at Spring on 4th in Bethlehem, the Bethlehem Skateplaza Benefit Show at Blue Sky Café, and hitting up the sidelines at the Easton-P’burg Replay Game at Lafayette.

The leading theme for spring is fresh and neutral skin. This is always a priority for me when working with my clients, but now it’s the look! Light, water-based foundations and tinted moisturizers are powerful tools in achieving this light, yet effective result. If you have some “high traffic areas” or blemishes to conceal, simply spot treat them with color correctors, then gently blend with your foundation. To finish, there are many bronzing powders, blushes, and luminizing products available on the market to add a glowing freshness to the face. This can be done quickly and easily and the effect is beautiful, flawless skin.

This Friday, March 20, marks the first official day of spring. Finally! Know what that means? It’s Free Rita’s Ice Day at Rita’s Italian Ice locations across the Valley. Looks like I’ll be making a lunchtime stop. But it also means a must-needed relief from the gray, cold winter season that many of us are admittedly sick and tired of. No offense Mother Nature, but the snow has got to go.
