Some Great Places to Take Her

“Mom,” a word that reminds us of the one person who we depended on when we were kids to tuck us in at night, make our favorite meals and kiss our scraped knees. As we get older, our moms continue to provide us comfort when we’re stressed, sick, or just need a shoulder to cry on. With any luck, mom has become a best friend over the years. So this Mother’s Day, treat your BF to a brunch she’ll never forget. Here’s where you might want to make a reservation:

Truthfully, seafood is one of those topics that I know very little about. And rightly so–I don’t have much of a taste for it so I don’t eat it. It’s definitely a texture thing, for one. But I’m also a picky eater with a rather bland palate. When my friend Marty Desilets invited me to a benefit dinner for the Gulf to help support clean-up efforts for the worst oil spill disaster in our history held at Starfish Brasserie in Bethlehem, I admit I was a bit hesitant.

As I was driving along Airport Road yesterday, I noticed a small sign stuck haphazardly in a patch of grass. The sign read something along the lines of “Sonic Coming Soon.”

Have you heard? There’s a new lounge in town and it’s absolutely worth checking out.

You’ll never guess what I did Monday night. I was a guest bartender (along with a few other local “celebs”) at Starters Riverport for the Alzheimer’s Association Bartender’s Challenge Lehigh Valley/Berks Memory Walk Kick Off event, and of course, I want to tell you how it went!
