Back to school shopping has never just been about school. There is something about fall runways and trends that inspire a need to shop in everyone, school enrollment status notwithstanding. This season can be summed up in one word: classic. From women to teens in lace and pearls to kids donning the perfect denim ensemble, this season is all about clothes that feel like home.

This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of announcing a very special contest after each of the Lehigh Valley Mall’s Fall Fashion Shows alongside my Friday afternoon co-host, B104’s Eric Chase.

As leaves begin to shift to bright golden hues and drift lazily to the ground, our thoughts turn to the chillier weather and the autumnal months ahead. C’mon, you know the best part of the season is indulging in the new fashions for fall!

This autumn, stock your wardrobe with Our Top 10 Must-Have Classics

white-shirt 1. The basic white shirt is an essential asset to own. The possibilities are endless–these crisp and clean building blocks work under everything from jackets to sweaters, or on their own with wide-leg pants or fitted jeans. Choose from different cuff, collar, and fabric variations or details. NEW TWIST: Ruffles, ruffles, and more ruffles! You must have one of these in your closet for fall.

2. There’s no doubt that the turtleneck sweater has earned its place as a classic. Why? The turtleneck brings your face into focus. Try a mock turtleneck if you don’t like the bulk of a real turtleneck (they have the same height, but the fabric doesn’t fold back over). Look for cozy, touchable materials. Wool tends to be itchy on your sensitive neck area. The black turtleneck is the ultimate classic because it creates a blank palette to show off wonderful necklaces, cuff bracelets, or just a pretty face. NEW TWIST: Try this classic in fuschia, soft gray, or earthy orange.
