I’m not exaggerating when I say I love “thrifting” (you know, the act of thrift shopping?). It’s been awhile since I’ve gone, so yesterday afternoon I went to the giant Salvation Army on Route 309 in Quakertown with my sister and totally scored!
First of all, it was Family Day so everything (excluding the current color tags and winter coats) was 50 percent off. Can’t beat that, right? I was scouring the racks and made my way over to the purse wall where I found a pretty blue leather handbag with a missing strap. I opened it up to find soft suede and, to my surprise, an embossed COACH emblem! Real leather and slightly vintage COACH with a $24.99 price tag. At first I was hesitant. Did I want to pay $24.99 for a bag with a missing strap? No, not really. But I couldn’t take the simple fact that someone else would have it instead if I decided to put it back. That alone made my decision rather simple.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t half off, but 25 bucks for a bag that was probably around $300 is a heck of a deal. (I did some research and this is the “Willis” bag, a COACH original, that is valued at $298.) I’m going to fashion a strap out of a metal chain from the hardware or craft store. Now that’s thrifty!
