  • A Sonic Nightmare?

As I was driving along Airport Road yesterday, I noticed a small sign stuck haphazardly in a patch of grass. The sign read something along the lines of “Sonic Coming Soon.”

Do you remember seeing those Sonic commercials and always wishing we had one in the area? I do. And now that we finally have one–Route 248 in Nazareth–I could honestly care less about it, especially because I haven’t been as amazingly satisfied with my drink and food choices as I imagined. Maybe I’m just ordering the wrong thing.

Furthermore, I actually think it’s a complete hassle to go to Sonic because no one seems to understand the drive-up and drive-thru systems. Plus, when it’s ultra crowded you just sit and stare at a row of headlights with your car idling away as you waste precious gasoline and pollute the air. Great idea, right?

I have to say, I can’t imagine the traffic build up especially with the new development along Airport Road. I think the additional job opportunities will be beneficial for about 20 residents, but mark my words: I am staying far away from that area. Good thing there’s a Target on Cedar Crest Boulevard!

Tell me, what do you think about Sonic? Are you excited for the new Allentown location?

I like to partake in the Sonic! Though I like it better when it’s a Checkers!

Cherry Lime-aid flurries and onion rings are the thing to get. Also, on Friday evenings, they usually have a classic car club which is fun and adds to the ambiance that Sonic is going for. Plus the wait staff comes out on skates (the good ones do, anyways) and you can SAFELY eat in your car! With the sun roof open, it’s good fun.
